Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC)
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) is one of Nigeria’s largest power distribution companies, responsible for supplying electricity to customers in the Ikeja area of Lagos State. Following the privatization of Nigeria’s power sector in 2013, IKEDC took over from the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), aiming to improve service delivery and infrastructure. The company serves both residential and commercial customers, working to upgrade its network, reduce energy losses, and implement prepaid metering systems. Despite facing challenges like power theft and aging infrastructure, IKEDC continues efforts to enhance electricity access and reliability in its coverage area.
