Job Title: Trainee Accountant

Job Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Trainee Accountants to support the branch in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations.
  • This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting, reporting, and compliance while working closely with branch managers and the central finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting functions including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and data entry.
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports.
  • Monitor stock counts, sales reports, and cash lodgments.
  • Help with bank reconciliations, budget support, and compliance checks.
  • Provide audit support by organizing and preparing financial documentation.

Basic Requirements for the Position of Trainee Accountant at SIMS Nigeria Limited

  • HND / Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of a 2nd Class) in any numerate field such as
    Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software is an advantage.
  • Good communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and build a career in accounting/finance.
